Behind the Spray: Who Is DAYZER?
Dayzer – Artist Biography Graffiti Artist | Visual Creator | Street Philosopher Dayzer is a Moroccan graffiti artist, graphic designer, and illustrator whose work combines street rebellion with profound visual storytelling. He began his artistic career in 2008 with drawings on paper and has evolved into an influential urban artist, creating canvases, city walls, and digital landscapes that reflect innate emotions, identity, and social awareness. His art is not just about aesthetics; it is a message, a protest, and a mirror of reality. Influenced by hip-hop culture and street philosophy, Dayzer blends graffiti tags, abstract forms, and symbolic language to express freedom, anger, and human contradiction. He has collaborated with leading Moroccan brands in the communications, fashion, footwear, and paint sectors, creating murals, advertising materials, and cultural expressions. His work has also been exhibited in exhibitions and festivals, where his murals and paintings speak of lived struggles and spiritual transformations. For Dayzer, graffiti is not decoration, but resistance. It is a loud, bold art that dares to say what others silence.
My Perspective on Graffiti Art
My perspective on graffiti art has evolved over time. From its beginnings as a voice of the streets and a reflection of human struggle, to what it has become today—it has gone through many changes. While I recognize the positive growth in style and technique, what truly disappoints me is the lack of meaningful messages in much of today’s graffiti.
Walls are now filled with beautiful visuals, but many of them lack soul. They don’t speak to reality, nor do they engage with social issues or human experiences. It reminds me of what happened with rap music—it drifted toward the commercial and lost touch with its raw, original essence.
Creating your tag name in different styles is a beautiful thing, no doubt. But real art should say something. It should leave a mark, deliver a message. Without that, art loses one of its most powerful traits: honesty and human connection.
